Miracles really do happen every day! Recently a friend of mine who is not currently working visited a church with a family member one Sunday morning. The pastor asked for a volunteer from the audience to demonstrate the power of faith. He wanted a non-member to come for the object lesson. He told the congregation he would give a gift to a stranger. He had my friend walk up to the podium and asked these questions:
"What's your name?" She told him.
"Do you know me?" Her reply, "No.", which was true.
"Have we ever hung out before?" Her reply, "No," which was true.
He then took out a crisp $100 bill and said, "I'm going to give this to you." Her reply was, "Thank you," even before he handed it to her. He gave her the bill and she said, "Thank you!"
The illustration was to demonstrate how faithful our God is to follow through with what He says He'll do. His promises are solid and true. He doesn't have to prove it by doing it, you just accept that He will in faith and your faith is saying that you are ready to receive the promise.
What's funny is that the pastor didn't know her situation or that she needed the blessing at that moment and his object lesson was actually God's provision, proving that He really does make good on His promises!
